June has turned out to be an outstanding month for Bollywood, as films like Bharat, Kabir Singh and Article 15 have turned out to be box office winners. But unfortunately, we don't have anything exciting for Bollywood buffs in the first week of July as two small-budget films, Malaal and One Day: Justice Delivered are hitting the screens. Both the ventures are low on buzz and we are hoping them to work at the box office on the merit of their strong content.
Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Far From Home is also hitting the screens this week, in fact, the Marvel superhero venture is arriving one day earlier, which is Thursday (July 4). The film has already garnered humongous buzz and enjoys a huge fanbase in the country and is expected to get a good opening as it follows the journey of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man after the death of his mentor Iron Man. Since it is the continuation of Avengers: Endgame, we are expecting all the Marvel fans to flock to the cinema halls. As per our predictions, the film is expected to earn around Rs 10 to Rs 12 crore on its first day and can cross the Rs 50 crore mark in its opening weekend of 4 days. Directed by Jon Watts, the film also stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio.
Talking about Malaal, the film marks the Bollywood debut of Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezan and Sharmin Segal. Produced by maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, it is directed by Mangesh Hadawale. It is the remake of 2004 Tamil film 7G Rainbow Colony. On the other hand, One Day: Justice Delivered stars Anupam Kher and Esha Gupta in key roles and is directed by Ashok Nanda. While both the films are will open below 1 crore at the box office, we hope with rave reviews they show good growth over the weekend.
