Samantha Akkineni is gearing up for the release of her next titled Oh Baby which is scheduled to be released worldwide on July 5. Directed by Nandini Reddy, Oh Baby is an official remake of Korean film Miss Granny which has already been remade in more than 14 languages. Samantha's role in the film is said to be a peculiar character, one which she hasn't done in her career so far. The trailer gives a glimpse of what she would be playing and fans of the Mahanati actress are eagerly looking forward to the film. Trade experts also believe that the film has the potential of releasing to a grand opening and has the potential of surpassing the first day collections of Samantha's previous release Majili.
The Naga Chaitanya and Samantha-starrer clocked more than Rs 11 crore at the box office on first day which stands as second highest for the actress after Rangasthalam that earned approximately Rs 24 crore on day 1. Experts believe that Oh baby has the potential to become the highest ever opening film in Samantha's career, however, it might not be able to beat Rangasthalam which has such huge opening due to Ram Charan's stardom. Oh Baby also stars veteran actress Lakshmi in a key role while Rajendra Prasad plays a crucial role in the plot. Naga Shaurya too would be seen playing one of the leading roles in Oh Baby. Teja Sajja, who played a younger Chiranjeevi in 2001 blockbuster hit Indra, will be seen playing a strong role in Oh Baby. The music of Oh Baby is composed by Mickey J Meyer and the album is already a hit. Oh Baby is produced by Suresh Babu, Vivek Kuchibotla.
