Post the huge success of Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh is putting in double effort on the field to get into the character of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev for '83. As the film is finally set to go on floors on June 5 in London, the actor along is leaving no stone unturned before the shoot. Earlier, Ranveer with his co-stars Saqib Saleem, Chirag Patil, Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Adinath Kothare, Jatin Sarna and others had took off to Dharamshala for a cricket boot camp and gave us glimpses of something phenomenal that's coming our way. In fact, the hype reaches new heights every day when Ranveer takes to Instagram and shares pictures of the entire team of '83 bonding together. Recently, he shared some candid pictures of doing the drill and the research with none other than Kapil Dev himself at his house where he they talked cricket over some chai and boy, are we dying to see more. From training to becoming the 'hurricane' to getting that 'Natraj shot' right, Ranveer is sinking his teeth into the character and why wouldn't he; he is learning the ropes from the best. The ensemble cast, who are playing the Indian squad will start shooting at Scottish port city for a week followed by popular locations in UK like Dulwich college in London, Edinburgh cricket club, Nevill Ground at Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent and the Oval cricket ground.
Talking about the shooting status, a source closed to the film told Mirror, "The team has been having marathon meeting every day and all the actors who had been training regularly for two hours have been putting in extra time before the shoot begins. Ranveer was recently in Delhi to spend time with Kapil Dev before getting into his shoes and the former cricketer is also expected to drop in on the sets."
Apart from the ensemble cast, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, who will play team manager PR Man Singh. Presented by Reliance Entertainment, '83 is directed by Kabir Khan. The film is inspired by Team India's first World Cup win. Produced by Madhu Mantena, Sajid Nadiadwala Vishnu Induri and Kabir Khan, the movie will release on April 10, 2020.
