Sadly, there were just a handful of new songs which released this week, but no worries, our Janta Janardhan, meaning you, are patient enough to wait for good songs and receptive enough to be open to new kinds of music. So, without much ado, let s get grooving and check out which songs topped the charts this week
The Hook Up Song Student Of The Year 2
Shanaya aka Alia Bhatt, an ex-student of St. Teresa joined Rohan aka Tiger Shroff s 2019 batch just for a groovy number. And unsurprisingly, the track has topped the charts this week. This is the first time we have seen Alia and Tiger share screen space together and their flirtatious moves and sizzling hot chemistry has won hearts. So much so that fans are actually waiting for them to do a film together. Gen-Y are connecting to this track which is now being frequently played at night clubs and parties. The soundtrack of Student Of The Year 2 has been rendered by music composer duo, Vishal Dadlani and Shekar Ravjiani. The lyrics are penned by Kumaar and the vocals are provided by Neha Kakkar and Shekhar. Listen to this track here:
The Jawani Song Student Of The Year 2
Two songs from the films have grabbed the top two positions; naturally, the album seems to be a hit among the masses. The Jawani song is a recreation which has been rendered by Vishal-Shekar. The vocals are given by Vishal himself, Payal Dev and Kishore Kumar s original voice has been retained for some parts. The new lyrics are penned by Anvita Dutt Guptan while the original was written by popular Indian poet and lyricist Anand Bakshi. The song got a thumbs up from the original hero, Randhir Kapoor despite people slamming it for the lack of originality in Bollywood soundtracks. Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria and Aditya Seal have done justice to the choreography. Have a look at the song here:
Ve Maahi Kesari
Third, on the charts is Kesari s amazing soundtrack Ve Maahi thanks to Tanishk Bagchi. Tanishk has not only composed it but also penned the lyrics, while Arijit Singh and Asees Kaur have lent their voices to this soulful track. Ve Maahi is an extremely popular song and has taken TikTok by storm with people dancing to its tunes or performing acts. Ve Maahi traces the love story between Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra s characters in the film and their cute budding romance makes it a visual treat. Watch the super cute video of here:
First Class Kalank
Next up is First Class which can be termed as one massy-classy number of the year. Varun Dhawan s infectious energy and Kiara Advani s Nazakat has impressed the audience. When the makers announced the release of this track, we thought this could be another promotional tactic of adding an OTT number to make people watch the film, but we were pleasantly surprised when we actually saw it. First Class is Varun s introduction in the movie and the guy has done some serious justice to his character of Zafar in the film. The music is composed by none other than Pritam and the lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The flirtatious number has been sung by Arijit Singh and Neeti Mohan. It was a refreshing change to hear Arijit singing a classy out-and-out dance number for once. Watch the video here:
Duniya Luka Chuppi
Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan-starrer Luka Chuppi didn t just earned huge footfalls at the box office but also impressed music enthusiasts with its soundtracks. The music for Duniyaa has been composed by Abhijit Vaghani and lyrics are penned by Kunaal Verma. The song is a recreation of Akhil s album Khaab. Akhil has provided his vocals alongside Dhavni Bhanushali. The track is a total romantic number and Kartik-Kriti s chemistry is a treat to watch. Here s the video:
