Vivek Oberoi receives a legal notice after posting a meme of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

After being lashed out by several women on the internet including Bollywood stars Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Urmila Matondkar, Vivek Oberoi finally deleted his crass meme featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The offensive meme had photos of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with actor Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi and with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya. The pictures in the meme were captioned as “opinion polls”, “exit polls” and “results”. Sharing the meme, Vivek wrote, “Haha! creative! No politics here...just life.”

On deleting his tweet, Vivek wrote, “Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever.”

After receiving major backlash on the internet, Vivek has now received a legal notice from The National Commission For Women (NCW) for sharing the meme.
