As we entered the second half of 2019, we ran a quick poll to establish the most popular South actor, who gave the most impressive performance in the first half of the year. And going by the poll results, it is safe to say that Suriya has beat the other actors with a huge margin. With 81 per cent votes, Suriya has been voted best actor by the audience. Our poll also featured Fahadh Faasil, Rishi and Nani. Although Suriya s NGK received a mixed response from the audience, his acting seems to have impressed all. The first runner up in this poll was Nani, who was applauded for his performance in Jersey, a sports drama. Check out the results here:
Suriya NGK: 81 per cent
Suriya played the role of an aspiring politician in NGK, which was directed by Selvaraghavan. Fans had huge expectations from this film as it was the first collaboration of Suriya and Selvaraghavan. Despite the slow narrative, Suriya stole the show in NGK with his thundering performance and fans loved his work.

Fahadh Faasil Kumbalangi Nights: 6 per cent
Also in the race was Fahadh Faasil, nominated for his antagonist portrayal in Kumbalangi Nights. Playing a good-guy-turned-bad-guy, Fahadh delivered a smashing performance, which was loved by his fans. Kumbalangi Nights also starred Soubin Shahir in a key role and he too did complete justice to his character.

Nani Jersey: 10 per cent
Telugu film Jersey featured Nani playing a young sportsman who goes through an emotional ride, chasing his dreams at the same time trying to keep his family happy. Nani received huge appreciation from the audience and critics for his touching performance, which helped him score a hit.

Rishi Kavaludaari: 3 per cent
Kannada film Kavaludaari saw Rishi playing a cop and he surprised everyone with his intense portrayal. Rishi shared the fame with veteran actor Anant Nag and delivered an applause-worthy performance in Kavaludaari.
