WTF Wednesday: Divya Drishti writers were clearly on a trip while writing the last episode featuring a human bomb

It's Wednesday and if you've been a loyal follower of BL's segment WTF Wednesday (if you are not then you are missing out on so much of drama), you would be aware that we are not very big fans of Indian TV. Yeah, we understand that the budgets for Indian shows aren't that big so we can't compare them to foreign TV series. And we have given them all the liberties to work sans logic given the fact that they have to churn out content every single day. However, when biweekly or finite series start coming up with an absurd track, sorry but we cannot not lose our sh*t.

The latest one on our radar is Divya Drishti. Well, the show is not really the latest to hit our radars. In fact it has been bothering our logical side of the brain for a long time now. However, when we read (yes, we did not end up watching the series) what happened in the last episode of the series, we lost all our faith from Indian television. In the last episode that aired on July 14, you would have seen that on the dinner table a girl in her teens, Simran refuses to give a candy jar to another character named Lavanya, who by the way is a shape shifting lizard. The two soon get into a verbal spat with her. Simran eats one of the candies from the jar, meanwhile, Lavanya is concerned about it. Soon, we get to know that Simran actually swallowed a 'ratna' which was hidden in the candy jar and now she has become a human bomb which will blast in an hour. Boooom! (Brain is blown into pieces).

The track has so many loopholes. How does one eat a 'ratna', which is supposed to be a stone, along with some candy? Like is the girl who looks quite mature, so dumb to gulp a stone. Did she not try chewing it? Also, what kind of 'ratna' is this that turns a human into a bomb that too with a ticker? In the same episode, we also see how a couple (the protagonists who manage to romance amidst all this) tries to expose Lavanya, the shape shifting lizard with a pesticide gas. And I'm wondering which brand of pesticide gas that is. Because the one we use, does not even 'kill' a cockroach and she is a shape shifting lizard goddammit.

As we have claimed earlier, Indian supernatural shows are quite fun to watch if you are... well you know what.

Tell us what do you think is the most absurd thing in the Indian TV this week and we might feature it in our next WTF Wednesday segment. Tell us your WTF episode by tweeting to us @bollywood_life.
