John Abraham's Batla House is roaring at the box office and how! The movie has earned approximately Rs 61 crore in its first week. And the actor is overwhelmed with the response that his film has received from the audience and critics. "First of all, I want to thank everyone for the fantastic response that they have given to Batla House. Thanks to the audience who have accepted this film wholeheartedly and critics for being so kind to this film because I feel Batla House deserved it," the actor said in an exclusive interview with us.

Apart from that, John Abraham also revealed the biggest gift that director Nikkhil Advani and he received for Batla House. The 46-year-old who plays the role of police officer Sanjay Kumar Yadav (the real life DCP whose life inspiresd Batla House film), said, "The biggest reward for me and Nikkhil (Advani) was when Sanjeev (Kumar Yadav) and his wife said that I played Sanjeev's character down-to-tee. His wife also mentioned that I got his pauses, laughter and everything perfect and that I never took a wrong step while playing Sanjeev on the screen and that is the biggest reward for us. These words coming from the man himself and his wife, I think we have done the job."

Continuing his chat with us, John further explained how difficult and easy it was for him to essay Sanjeev's role on the big screen. "It was easy for me because I had Sanjeev Kumar Yadav whom I could call and meet to understand what he went through. At the same time, it was hard for me because I had to match up to what he was like in real life," said John.

No matter how hard or easy it was for John, the actor managed to play his part perfectly. And his film, Batla House, continues to have smooth run at the BO. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the film is based on the Batla House encounter and its aftermath.
