Batla House box office collection Day 6: John Abraham's action thriller is unstoppable

This Independence Day, two movies were released. Both based on true real-life incidents and both doing well on the box office. While Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark, the other released Batla House has no intentions to stop. After earning Rs 50 crores in its five-day run, the movie is unstoppable. On its sixth day, the movie has earned Rs 4.78 Crores. The John Abraham-led movie is holding it's foot strongly in weekdays and if it continues, the m0vie might look for a big first-week collection.

Batla House opened with a whopping amount of Rs 15.55 Crores. However, on its second day, it saw a dip and collected Rs 8.84 Crores. However, the word of mouth, helped the movie. On its third day (Saturday), Batle House saw a rise and collected Rs 10.90 Crores. On fourth day (Sunday), it collected Rs 12.70 Crores. With a collection of Rs 5.05 Crores on its fifth day (Monday) the movie collected Rs 53 crores. And now with the sixth day's (Tuesday) collection coming in the total collection of the movie has reached Rs 57.82 Crores.

The movie is doing well despite the clash with - Jagan Shakti's Mission Mangal which has a starry cast including names like Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen.

The film is inspired by the controversial case of Batla House firings that took place in 2008 in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. It was one of the most intriguing cases as it raised many brows on Delhi police and ACP Sanjeev Kumar who led the operation.

Talking about the success of the movie, John Abraham, in an exclusive interaction with BollywoodLife said, "First of all, I want to thank everyone for the fantastic response that they have given to Batla House. Thanks to the audience who have accepted this film wholeheartedly and critics for being so kind to this film because I feel Batla House deserved it. Of course, we have got some Rs 15.5 to 16 cr on day 1 but it would have been Rs 2 cr more, had the prints reached out on time. Judgement from our honourable high court came till 13th (August) evening so it took us a little time to reach out. So, there was a loss of about Rs 1.5- 2 crore on day 1 but it's okay we will make up for it. But, as you said, the response from the audience has been FANTASTIC and it is a relief for me and Nikkhil."
