Happy birthday, Randeep Hooda! 3 things that make him Bollywood's different yet outstanding actor!

The ruggedly handsome and wonderfully talented Randeep Hooda is vastly different from his contemporaries and the new breed of actors. He began his tinsel town journey with Monsoon Wedding (2001) but recognition came to him really late. In some ways, you can say that he was really unlucky as he churned out one good performance after another in films that were easily forgotten by audiences and critics. After a decade, he finally tasted some success with Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbai (2010), where he played Inspector Agnel Wilson.

In his low phase, Randeep Hooda indulged in his love for horses and confesses that maintaining them had put immense strain on his finances, but his obstinate spirit did not let him sell them. Some might say that Randeep is just too stubborn but it is the same perseverance that helped him see his successful phase! In the past few years, he has managed to create a distinct image for himself as this dedicated actor, socially conscious and politically aware individual. For those who know him, he is as real as they come. As a journalist, you know that you can expect good sensible stuff and quotable quotes from him. However, there are many things that set Randeep apart from his ilk. On the occasion of his birthday, we list down some of those qualities

Rewards don't matter

Randeep works insanely on his roles. What he did in Sarbjit was beyond someone's imagination. The same applies for Do Lafzon Ki Kahani. It is very rare to find actors who will invest so much without thinking about what a role will bring for them in the future. Buzz is that he charges Rs 6 crore per film and every paisa is richly deserved, but the fact that awards chose to ignore his performance in Sarbjit and his absolute lack of fuss over it proves that nothing matters more than the actual craft of acting for Mr. Hooda. And we respect him for that! (Also read: Randeep Hooda to play lead protagonist in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next - deets inside)

Life beyond films

In the past couple of years, Randeep has been busy with other things besides films his polo team, social initiatives and activities back home in Haryana. It might have a bit to do with his background, his mom is associated with politics but the actor's involvement is not at some party level. It is grass-root and as basic as it can be. When he is not acting, he is pursuing his love for equestrian sports in which he is equally talented.

Publicity doesn't matter

The actor stays away from the limelight and likes it that way. We don't see his dinner or airport pictures. There is a genuine desire to keep his life private. The only time he is available is when he is promoting his films. He does talk, and is damn articulate but no daily quotes from him.

Of course, he is handsome in the most earthy yet regal manner. He has done well in almost every film but Highway (2014), Laal Rang (2016), Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster (2011) and Bombay Talkies (2014) are personal favourites. He might not be as celebrated as some other actors but his every act has class stamped all over it.

Bollywood Life wishes Randeep Hooda a very happy birthday!
