The advance booking of Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal has begun and we must say it took a flying start at the box office. Since the film was primarily catering to multiplexes, it has received a thunderous response there. On the other hand, John Abraham's Batla has taken a decent in these multiplexes, because it mainly targets to single screens and mass centres and the maximum contribution will come from tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
Advance booking of AkshayKumar and R.Balki's MissionMangal in national multiplex chains starts on flying note. Combined total of 12,000 tickets already sold in 3 chains viz. PVR, Inox, Cinepolis. Batla House combined figure from those chains so far is 2,000 tickets. @akshaykumar

Akshay plays a scientist in "Mission Mangal", which also stars actresses Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen. Talking about the film, Akshay said, "I've told my five heroines that I have produced the film and I don't know whether it will be a hit or a flop, but I can assure this much that they would feel very proud of being a part of this film. It is a good and clean film.".
Mission Mangal is based on the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), or the Mangalyaan project launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in November 2013, to put a space probe in planet Mars' orbit. It jointly-partnered by Pad Man helmer R Balki and is directed by Jagan Shakti. The film is set to hit the screens on August 15 during the Independence Day weekend and will clash with John Abraham's Balta House at the ticket windows.
