After a disappointing last week of September, October started with a bang as Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's War opened with a historic response at the ticket windows. The mega-budget action-entertainer has already crossed Rs 180 crore mark and is expected to enter the Rs 200 crore club today. While the live-event film is going super strong at the box office, this Friday, we have a Bollywood offering in the form of The Sky Is Pink, which stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in key roles.
Since the romantic drama brings desi girl Priyanka Chopra back on the silver screen after more than three years, it will be a special film for her fans. But if you look at the feel of the trailer and song, you will realise, it is not an out-and-out commercial entertainer and primarily targets to multiplexes and metro cities. So, needless to say, it will face stiff competition from War pan India along with Joker and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. As per our predictions, The Sky Is Pink is expected to earn in the range of Rs 3 to 4 crore on its first day at the ticket windows. The star cast has promoted the film quite well, which has generated a decent buzz around it.
The Sky Is Pink also has the advantage of the positive reviews from the international media as it got standing ovation during the screening in Toronto Film Festival. So, just like there, if the content strikes the chord, we can see a major positive turnaround in the collections at the box office. Directed by Shonali Bose, the film is produced under the banners of RSVP Movies, Roy Kapur Films, Purple Pebble Pictures and Ivanhoe Pictures.
