F.R.I.E.N.D.S is the best thing to have happened to humankind and if you don't agree, we can't be friends. If you think that's uncalled for; the show is not just a show but only America's most popular and India's most favourite sitcom even with flaws as big as our abandonment issues. It even gave us "I'll be there for you " to sing those issues away, aur kya chahiye bhai? But if you still insist, it is Monica's knack of wiping it clean (channeled a lot of it during Diwali), Chandler's puns and digs (used a lot of them at the Diwali party too) and Phoebe's eccentric mannerisms (will there ever be another Regina Phalange?) That and Joey's way of asking 'How you doin' that could even make Rachel blush like a teenager! No, we are not forgetting Ross, just keeping him for the last, for it is him who was a mix of all and how!
Yes, David Schwimmer who played Ross, immortalised the part with his quirks that fans cherish till date. in fact, on his 53rd birthday, we are here to revisit our favourite Ross Geller moments that made the FRIENDS what it is a priceless gem. From 'We were on a break' to 'Pivot', here are the ones that will always make us fans chuckle. Dekko!
"We were on a break!"
Okay, we agree. It wasn't Ross' finest moments; he was kind of a jerk who cheated on Rachel after a fight, thinking she is hooking up with Mark from office but it is one of the most impressionable ones that keeps recurring throughout the series for better or worse.
"Unagi"
Remember when Phoebe and Rachel take self-defense classes that have them bragging about how they can kick anyone's ass? And then Ross tells them that after years of studying karate he has learned that self-defense is useless without Unagi, a state of total awareness. Rachel and Phoebe tell him that Unagi is a sushi and that there's no such thing? And later, shrieks when Phoebe and Rachel scream danger? Yeah, just want you to imagine that.
The one where Ross wears a pink sweater
There was a time when Ross accidentally takes one of Rachel's shopping bags and winds up wearing her new pink shirt on a date, mistakenly thinking she bought it for him cause she's good at fashion and stuff. Now, gender fluidity was not a big thing back then and Joey did mock on Ross but for wearing the same but the style with which he carried himself can give any Ranveer Singh a run for his money.
Bird scout Ross
Ross wasn't a beefy guy beating up every odd his way. He was a Paleontology Professor who liked dinosaurs and that was one of the geekiest things about him that also made him endearing. But what was, even more, was when he accidentally hurt a little girl and decided to help her sell cookies. Not just that. After realising that he was no big help as a bird scout, he gave her the space camp visit she dreamt of! Aww, right?
"Pivot"
Again, if you'd recall, in one episode, Ross, while moving his new sofa up the stairs, screams "pivot" at Rachel and Chandler and now it is the first inside joke about FRIENDS. Mostly don't just say 'move it' if you're a FRIENDS fan, say 'pivot!' And like I said earlier, if you're not one, we can't be friends.
On that note, happy birthday, David Schwimmer! Thank you for giving us Ross!
