Akshay Kumar and Katrina to begin their month-long schedule for Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi today - read details

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will kickstart the month-long schedule for Rohit Shetty's cop-drama Sooryavanshi today. The actress shot for a few portions in Mumbai at Mehboob Studios with Akshay and Neena Gupta, who plays his mother on-screen. Now, Kat will be joining the cast and crew of Sooryavanshi in Hyderabad today. Katrina will be shooting for a larger than life romantic number with Akki and we are so excited to see it. The actress was last seen with him in Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan. And needless to say, fans are pumped up to see their fave on-screen couple back after a hiatus of 9 years.

Coming back to Sooryavanshi, the team will be filming for action-packed sequences too. Akshay Kumar, who plays the role of ATS cop Veer Sooryavanshi, will be performing the daredevil stunts and sequences. While Rohit Shetty's stunt team had been prepping for the same since few days, a source connected to the film told Mumbai Mirror, "This one is the film s longest schedule. Rohit plans to wrap it up before he leaves for Bulgaria where he will shoot for the 10th season of the adventure-based reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi, for around 45 days. Once back, Rohit will start filming the final schedule of Sooryavanshi in Goa with his lead actors and the antagonists Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh and Nikitin Dheer."

Akshay had earlier shot for scenes which had him hanging from a helicopter and riding a bike on the runway. For the ones who do not know, Sooryavanshi's release date has been changed. The super-cop drama was earlier slated to release on Eid 2020 thereby clashing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah featuring Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt.

However, Rohit decided to prepone Sooryavanshi and announced March 27, 2020, as the new release date. Salman Khan was the one who confirmed the new release date of Shetty's film. The actor took to his Twitter account and tweeted, "I always thought of him as my younger brother and today he proves it... #RohitShetty Sooryavanshi releasing on 27th March 2020."
