Despite facing stiff competition from Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana's Article 15 is managing to hold well in the weekdays. The hard-hitting drama has raked in 3.48 crore yesterday and now stand with the grand total of Rs 31.16 crore. Article 15 will earn around Rs 35 crore in its opening week. There is no big Bollywood release but since Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Far From Home is hitting the screens, Article 15 might face a screen crunch as both the film have the same target audience.

The film has also won the Audience Award at the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF). The 10th edition of the UK and Europe's South Asian film festival, supported by the Bagri Foundation and the British Film Institute (BFI), opened with Anubhav Sinha's hard-hitting thriller "Article 15" on June 20. The film won the Audience Award on June 29.
Article 15 aims to remind people about Article 15 of the Constitution which prohibits any discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, and how its value has been forgotten. The investigative thriller features Ayushmannn as a police officer, with Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Isha Talwar and Manoj Pahwa in key roles. The film is distributed globally by Zee Studios International.
"I am delighted to have won the LIFF Audience Award," Sinha said in a statement. "So happy that the film actually connected with Indians abroad and with non-Indians alike, who are not facing this version of inequality on a daily basis," he added.
