Batla House box office collection day 5 early estimates: John Abraham's action- thriller crosses Rs 50 crore

Despite the big clash with Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal at the box office on Independence Day, John Abraham's action-thriller Batla House is having a smooth run at the ticket windows. John's last Independence Day release, Satyamave Jayate, was a box office success and similarly, Batla House is marching towards glory. The movie opened to Rs 15.55 crore followed by Rs 8.84 crore, Rs 10.90 cr and Rs 12.70 crore over the next three days. The total collection of Batla House now stands at Rs 47. 99 crore. But, if the early estimates are to be believed, the Nikkhil Advani directorial raked in Rs 6.50 crore on Monday, thereby cross Rs 50 crore at the box office. The film has fared well and it is getting more traction in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Within just five days of its release, Batla House has minted Ra 54. 49 crore at the box office.

Happy with the amazing response that the film received from audience and critics, John Abraham exclusively told us, "First of all, I want to thank everyone for the fantastic response that they have given to Batla House. Thanks to the audience who have accepted this film wholeheartedly and critics for being so kind to this film because I feel Batla House deserved it. Of course, we have got some Rs 15.5 to 16 cr on day 1 but it would have been Rs 2 cr more, had the prints reached out on time. Judgement from our honourable high court came till 13th (August) evening so it took us a little time to reach out. So, there was a loss of about Rs 1.5- 2 crore on day 1 but it's okay we will make up for it. But, as you said, the response from the audience has been FANTASTIC and it is a relief for me and Nikkhil."

Batla House is based on the around the controversial Batla House encounter that took place on September 18, 2008, between the Delhi Police and alleged terrorists of the Indian Mujahideen. Besides John Abraham, the movie also features Nora Fatehi and Mrunal Thakur. Stay tuned to BL for more updates!
