Batla House box office collection day 11 early estimates: John Abraham's film continues its phenomenal run

Nikkhil Advani's directorial, Batla House, featuring John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur continues its phenomenal run at the box office. Despite facing tough competition from Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal, John's film has maintained its steady pace at the ticket windows. As per early estimates, the film, based on Batla House encounter case (2008), has collected Rs 7.50 cr on Sunday. And the total 11-day BO collection of the film now stands at approximately Rs 84.07 crore. Strong word of mouth, gripping storyline, John's screen presence and many other factors have attributed to the success of Batla House. Say for that matter, this film is trending better as compared to John Abraham's last Independence Day release, Satyameva Jayate, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Reacting to his film's success, John told ANI, "I am relieved and I am happy with the outcome. Yes, there were a few problems that we faced with the release, but since the results are good I am happy with the audience's reaction that I am seeing on social media and elsewhere. The best compliment that I remember is 'the film is so much better than the 'Saki Saki' song and the trailer' and I believe it compliments like these that are encouraging and make us feel good about our work."

In an exclusive interaction with us, John also revealed the biggest reward that he received for Batla House. He said, "The biggest reward for me and Nikkhil (Advani) was when Sanjeev (Kumar Yadav) and his wife said that I played Sanjeev's character down-to-tee. His wife also mentioned that I got his pauses, laughter, and everything perfect and that I never took a wrong step while playing Sanjeev on the screen and that is the biggest reward for us. These words coming from the man himself and his wife, I think we have done the job."

Batla House is based on the real-life Batla House shootout, which took place on September 19, 2008, against Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in the Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. During the shootout, two terrorists were killed while two others were arrested.
