Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director Anees Bazmee: Kartik Aaryan can look vulnerable and yet childlike on screen

A sequel to Bhool Bhulaiyaa was announced recently and Kartik Aaryan has been roped in to play the lead role. To be directed by Anees Bazmee, the film will have no connection with the first part which had Akshay Kumar playing the lead role. The first look poster of the sequel was released recently and Kartik Aryan is seen sporting a similar look as Akshay from the first part. Speaking about why Kartik was signed for the film, director Anees Bazmee says that he felt the young actor was suited for the role. "We've finalized Kartik for the lead in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequel. I feel he has a tremendous aptitude for comedy, and can also look vulnerable and almost childlike on screen, just like Akshay Kumar," Anees was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle. The film is set to hit the screens on July 31st, 2020 and is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series.

Speaking about the actor, Kartik Aaryan will be next seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in other lead roles and is directed by Mudassar Aziz, who previously made films like Happy Bhag Jaayegi. It will clash with Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Panipat at the box office on December 6.

After Pati Patni Aur Woh, Kartik Aaryan will also appear in Aaj Kal, which also features his rumoured girlfriend Sara Ali Khan. Talking about the film, it is produced under the banner of Window Seat Films and is scheduled to hit the screens on February 14, 2020, during the Valentine's Day weekend. The film will clash with Ayushmann Khurrana's Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan and Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani starrer Malang at the box office. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali, who previously helmed films like Rockstar, Love Aaj Kal, Tamasha and Jab We Met.
