Coolie No.1 first look: Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's chemistry promises to be interesting in the comic caper

And the wait is over! Two posters of Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No. 1 are out and we love it. The first poster features only Varun Dhawan and we are already liking his new avatar. Yesterday, the makers had released a teaser where we saw a coolie carrying Louis Vuitton bags. Needless to say, it was Varun while Sara Ali Khan's voice echoed in the background as she said - Aye Coolie! Coming back to the posters of David Dhawan's 45th film, we see Varun dressed as a typical coolie with his trolley. The second poster comprises of both Sara and Varun and their chemistry seems to be crackling in this comic-caper. Varun Dhawan seems pretty excited posing next to Sara as the actress channelles her inner diva.

Meanwhile, Varun also shared a motion poster of Coolie No. 1 on his Instagram account. "COOLIE NO 1. May 1st 2020

Varun and Sara began shooting for Coolie No. 1, a few days ago. The actor's mother Lali Dhawan was the one who gave clap for the first shot of the film. Coolie No. 1 is the official remake of David Dhawan's directorial of the same name (1995). It featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles.

The OG Coolie No. 1's plot revolved around a matchmaker Shaadiram planning to teach a rich man a lesson, who once spurned him. However, hilarious consequences arose when Shaadiram got coolie Raju to pose as a millionaire and marry the rich man's daughter.

Revealing how he came up with the idea of his iconic film's remake, David Dhawan had earlier told IANS, "After re-watching the original, I started working on the script. For six months, I wondered if I should make it or not. Finally, I decided to adopt it. It's actually a new film. I've worked on it for almost a year with the original writer Rumi Jaffery on the screenplay and Farhad Samji on the dialogue."
