Housefull 4: Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati to feature in a qawwali sequence

Rana Daggubati will team up with Akshay Kumar again in Housefull 4 which has a bunch of other actors too. Directed by Farhad Samji, Housefull 4 is the fourth instalment from the comedy franchise and this latest one is said to be stuffed with many hilarious moments. And amongst those is a face-off between Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati in which the actors will be seen competing each other in qawwali. This particular sequence between Akshay and Rana is said to be a crucial part of the plot and takes the story forward. "It appears at a crucial juncture and is on the lines of a fun conversation between the protagonist and the antagonist," Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying. Both the actors are known for depicting high energy on-screen and fans can expect this to be a treat.

The shooting of the sequence will begin soon as soon as Rana is back from the US. Reportedly, it may happen anytime before the end of August since makers are aiming to release Housefull 4 in October this year. Akshay Kumar is said to have allotted his dates for the shoot of this sequence already.

The film found itself amidst a controversy after former director Sajid Khan was named in the #MeToo movement. Sajid stepped down as the director of the film and was replaced by Farhad Samji who penned the story and the screenplay. The shooting of Housefull 4 was halted for few days and resumed later after Farhad took over the responsibilities.

On the other hand, Nana Patekar too had to be replaced in the film after he was named by actress Tanushree Dutta in the #MeToo movement. The team of Housefull 4 was shooting in Jaipur when the news hit the world and Nana immediately opted out of the film. At this point, makers brought Rana Daggubati came onboard the film and began shooting for his portions. It will be interesting to see how Rana will make this comic caper more appealing.
