Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 kicked off with a lot of fanfare last week and we got our first nail-biting episode last night. Charna Gupta, a soft-spoken labour inspector from MP earned Rs 50 lakh due to her knowledge and prudent strategies. The lady was quite well-versed in social and current affairs but history was her weak point. She mentioned it quite often on the show. She had used her last lifeline for Rs 25 lakh question. The question posed before her was which Hindi poet has the pseudonym of Kaladhar. By using her lifeline, she gave the right answer, Jaishankar Prasad. The question for one crore was: In 1944, the battle of Kongla Tagbi was fought near the capital of which state. The options were Itanagar, Guwahati, Kohima and Imphal. She had given the answer Imphal but did not lock it in as she was not sure. She quit the game with Rs 50,00,000. Charna who hails from Beohari, which is 400 kms from Bhopal is a Labour Inspector.
On the show, we came to know about her job and background. Her parents and husband had come on the sets. In fact, she used her another lifeline for a historical question. She was asked that amongst Alexander, Genghis Khan, Samudragupta, Chandragupta who was born first. The right answer was Alexander The Great. This time, the contestants can chose a topic as well.
