Superstar Rajinikanth is currently shooting in Mumbai for Darbar which is directed by AR Murugadoss. Darbar will have Rajinikanth playing a cop and this will be after almost two decades in his career. Rajinikanth has been amidst quite hectic schedules of the film and has been juggling between Mumbai and Chennai between breaks in the schedules. And amidst such busy schedule, superstar Rajinikanth makes a quick visit to Bengaluru to see him ailing brother Sathyanarayana Rao who underwent a surgery. Rao is said to be fine and was operated upon his leg due to an ailment. Rajinikanth visited his brother and enquired his health which is now said to be fine. Speaking about the film, Darbar film is the first time association of Rajinikanth and AR Murugadoss and fans are kicked about it. Nayanthara would be seen playing the leading lady in the film and has already shot for major portions in the film. Darbar also stars Nivetha Thomas and the Paapanasanam actress will be seen playing Rajinikanth's daughter in the plot.
Bollywood actor Pratiek Babbar will be seen playing the antagonist in Darbar while Sacred Games fame actor Jatin Sarna will be seen in a brief role. These two actors have already shot for their portions in Mumbai in the recent schedule. The makers of Darbar recently revealed the title poster of the film which featured Rajinikanth. The superstar was seen sporting police uniform and fans of Thalaiva are excited to see him playing a cop on the large screen.

Darbar will have cinematography by Santosh Sivan while the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Produced by Lyca Productions, Darbar is slated to be released worldwide during Pongal 2020.
