#HappyBirthdaySRK: From giving his award to Salman, to selling tickets of his own movie - 10 interesting facts about Shah Rukh Khan that will stun you

We know all about his movies, we are also aware about his family but you might not know EVERYTHING about Shah Rukh Khan, unless you're a crazy fan. It is Shah Rukh Khan's 54thd birthday and we're celebrating it in all ways possible. His birthday celebration is equivalent to birthday celebrations of our own family members. While we are hooked to his hit songs, we're also taking some time out to look back at his older photos. It was during one of those throwback moments that we came across the time when SRK gave away his Zee Cine Award to Salman Khan and we realised that there is so much interesting trivia about SRK that a lot of people might not know.

So we decided to put down ten of the most interesting trivia and moments from Shah Rukh Khan's life. Let's see how many of these you know:

Shah Rukh owned a restaurant before owning a production house, a cricket team and our hearts:

Before he became the Badshah of Bollywood, SRK ran a restaurant in Dariya Ganj, New Delhi.

SRK is obsessed with 555:

All of Shah Rukh's cars sport the number 555. If that isn't interesting enough, the actor's staff too has phone numbers with 555 in them.

He is not a Jabra fan of ice-cream:

Believe it or not, the King Khan doesn't like ice cream. The actor refrains from eating the dessert.

He's a knight and not just of the Knight Riders:

SRK has been bestowed with the title of a Knight in Malaysia.

He has a phobia of horses:

He might be the Baazigar of Bollywood courtesy his horse act from the early 1990s movie but SRK is not fond of horses.

He was actor cum ticket seller for Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa:

After he acted in the film, Shah Rukh stood at the booking window of a Mumbai theatre in 1994 on the first day of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and sold tickets of the movie. The movie's director Kundan Shah had paid him Rs 25,000 for the movie.

Bhai for Bhai SRK gave his Best Actor award to Salman in 1998:

Back in 1998, SRK was awarded the best actor award at the Zee Cine Award. He walked up on the stage, called Salman Khan immediately, handed over the award to him and asked him to give the thank you speech. Check out the video here:

His mother bribed Shah Rukh with movies so that he would learn Hindi:

He has got the Qayanat kissing his feet but did you know SRK went weak in the knees at the mention of Hindi? The actor, who is the biggest actor in the Hindi film industry, was very poor in Hindi. To push him into learning the language, his mother promised him that she would take him out to watch a movie if he passed his Hindi exams. Given his love for cinema, the teenager began not only clearing but also scoring high numbers in the subject.

Shah Rukh has the wackiest reasons for sleeping in freshly-ironed every night:

Shah Rukh feels "one never knows who one may meet in dreams." Hence he wants to dress up well and sleep.

Before he took to his Bandra house's rooftop, SRK slept on footpath:

After the death of his mother, Shah Rukh arrived in Mumbai trying to make it big. On one of his nights in the city, the budding actor was penniless, which forced him to sleep on the footpaths. That unfortunate night was followed by a brighter day as SRK signed five movies including Deewana, which released on June 25, 1992.

Happiest birthday, Shah Rukh Khan. Thank you for always inspiring us to be better than the best.
