The Housefull 4 wave is continues to prove too strong for both Saand Ki Aankh and Made in China as neither film made much improvement on their second Friday. There's still a sliver of hope for the Bhumi Pednekar-Taapsee Pannu starrer as it managed to hold steady on day 8 with a collection of Rs. 1.30 cr nett. The problem though is its low collections from the first week. The word-of-mouth is coming into play now, but it'll have to enjoy an extended run in cinema halls as the film is completely metro-multiplex dependent, and needs strong holds over a sustained run in order to make up lost ground and entertain even a remote thought of breaking even.
On the other hand, Made in China completely crashed on its second Friday, with abysmal figures of Rs. 20 lakh nett. The Rajkummar Rao-Mouni Roy-Boman irani starrer, which began on a higher note than Saand Ki Aankh, gradually saw itself fall behind the female-centric film, and has no takers left in cinema halls. With such poor numbers, very few screens will be alloted to the film in its second week, and it should be out of theaters thereon.
Saand Ki Aankh box-office collection:
Week 1: 12 cr nett
2nd Fri: 1.30 cr nett
Total (8 days: 13.30 cr nett
Made in China box-office collection:
Week 1: 10.50 cr nett
2nd Fri: 20 lakh nett
Total (8 days): 10.70 cr nett
