Zee TV's popular daily soap Ishq Subhan Allah is going to have a spin-off. BollywoodLife's sources exclusively reveal to us that the spin-off, which is going to be a digital series is titled Ishq Aaj Kal. The digital series will stream on Zee TV's digital arm Zee 5. Furthermore, the cast of the show has also been finalized. Meri Durga fame Paras Kalnawat, who was last seen in Ekta Kapoor's Dil Hi Toh Hai 2 plays the male lead. While Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman actress Ankitta Sharma will romance Kalnawat as the female lead. Furthermore, we have also learnt that alongside the two actors there's a popular face making her acting debut as well.
Roshmi Banik, who was a contestant in the popular TV reality show Bigg Boss 12, has been locked to play a prominent character. Banik will apparently play a parallel lead. Her character will be Sharma's best friend in the show. Roshmi entered the 12th season of the show as a civilian. However, despite being a popular name she got eliminated from the show in the first round of evictions. Interestingly, although Roshmi has signed another digital series as well, Ishq Aaj Kal might become her acting debut, as it will be launched first.
Our sources add that the filming for the series began from yesterday, May 19. The cast and crew will fly down to the beautiful locales of Manali from May 24 to shoot major chunks of the series.
Despite repeated attempts, Paras didn't respond to us till the time of filing the story. Both Roshmi and Ankitta remained unavailable for comments.
Ishq Subhan Allah's spin-off will be a finite digital series and mostly will be a young love triangle. Apparently, Angad Hasija, best remembered for Bidaai, is also a part of the project.
For those who don't know Ishq Subhan Allah revolved around Kabir and Zara played debutant Adnan Khan and Eisha Singh respectively. Adnan rose to fame courtesy the show which has been running for some time now.
