Surbhi Chandna-Namit Khanna's Sanjivani 2 to premiere on August 12?

We are all excited to watch Sanjivani 2? aren't we?! Well, the second season of Sanjivani is returning after 17 years and the fans including us are pumped up to watch this medical drama. Believe it or not, Sanjivani has been one of the best medical dramas we have seen on Indian television. Mohnish Bahl and Gurdeep Kohli from the first part are reprising their roles in Sanjivani 2 while Surbhi Chandna and Namit Khanna are the additions. Recently, the makers released the FIRST teaser of the show and took us on a nostalgic trip. All four lead actors made us nostalgic and so did the iconic Sanjivani tuned. We shed a tear or two while watching the teaser of Sanjivani 2.

The latest development of Sanjivani 2 is about its premiere date. According to an IWMBUZZ report, "Sanjivani 2 will start beaming on Star Plus from 12 August." Isn't this the best piece of information you have ready today? Meanwhile, the buzz is that Sanjivani 2 will air at 7:30 pm replacing Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji.

The first season aired in 2002 followed by its sequel named Dill Mill Gayye. It featured Karan Singh Grover, Shilpa Anand, Sukriti Khandpal, Karan Wahi, Jennifer Winget among others. Recently, in a PinkVilla recent interview, producer Siddharth Malhotra revealed that there will be references to Dr Armaan and Riddhima from Dill Mill Gayye. "They are two different ends of the spectrum. Armaan and Ridhima were love-hate, Rahul and Juhi were love-hate and this is also love-hate. There are references. Riddhima was Shashank's (Mohnish) daughter, but we won't disclose this (more info on reference) now," said Siddharth adding that there is the possibility of Armaan and Riddhima being a part of Sanjivani 2.

The producer also recalled the time he thought of coming up with season 2 of the medical drama. He said, "It emerged through discussions with the network. It was the first show I created and was credited for as a concept creator, so as a brand, they wanted it back. Of course, this story won t be similar to Sanjivani or DMG. The characters' journey continues for the characters that I have retained. There are some characters I have retained from Dill Mill Gayye; there are some characters I have retained from Sanjivani as well. But other than that, the story will be different." We are happy for the fact that Sanjivani 2 is all set to premiere in a month or so.
