Dream Girl director Raaj Shandilya reveals how he got the idea for the film

Ayushmann Khurrana will yet again be seen in a different subject and this time it is too different. In his upcoming film Dream Girl, Ayushmann will be seen playing a boy and a girl and will be seen in lot of girly costumes, which was noticed in the trailer released recently. Dream Girl is directed by Raaj Shandilya who was written dialogues for films like Bhaiyaji Superhit, Welcome Back and many others. The filmmaker reveals how he got the idea of having a man dress up and speak like a woman and why he chose Ayushmann to play the lead role. "When I was in college, a social networking site had become very popular and I noticed that one of my friends would keep talking to someone on it for hours. When I prodded him, he said, 'Ek lakdi hai, badi acchhi baatein karti hai.' I encouraged him to meet her and when he did, he was shocked to discover that the 'girl' he was talking to turned out to be a guy. In our film, Ayushmann's character also finds himself in a sticky situation, though not on social media," Raaj Shandilya was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.

Raaj also throws light on why he chose Ayushmann Khurrana for the lead role in the film and says clear right from the beginning. "Pooja is a part of the film, but she she isn't the real character. Dream Girl is the story of a boy who speaks in a woman's voice. When we approached Ayushmann, he loved the story and immediately agreed to be a part of the film," Raaj added further.

Dream Girl is hilarious by the look of it and we can't wait to see more. The National Award winner is at his wackiest and quirkiest best and he reunites with Vicky Donor co-star Annu Kapoor in Dream Girl. His chemistry with Nushart Bharucha also seems refreshing and we are eager to see how their romance unfolds on the big screen. Watch it right here ICYMI...
