Indian 2: Aishwarya Rajesh replaced by Priya Bhavani Shankar? Here's what we know

Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan has an ensemble cast with actors like Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet and Siddharth playing crucial roles in it. Aishwarya Rajesh too was roped in to play a key role in Indian 2 and the actress was quite excited to play the part in the film. However, according to latest reports, Aishwarya Rajesh may no longer be part of the film. In a recent interview, Aishwarya revealed that she had to opt out of the film due to date issues since she has already allocated dates to her other assignments as well. "I couldn't work out the dates. We mutually agreed to part ways. I feel really bad. I missed out on working with Shankar sir and Kamal sir. It was a dream project for me. I wish I get a chance to work with them again," Aishwarya was quoted as saying by Times of India.

Aishwarya has now been replaced by Priya Bhavani Shankar who shot to fame with films like Meyaadha Mann and Kadaikutty Singam. Priya is said to have already signed the paper work and will soon the join the sets of Indian 2 which is being shot in Rajahmundry presently. An official announcement regarding this is yet to be made by makers of Indian 2.

Produced by Lyca Productions, Indian 2 is, apparently, a sequel to the 1996 release with the same title which featured Kamal Haasan in dual roles. the first look of Indian 2 was revealed few weeks ago which had Kamal Haasan reprising the older role from the original. The film was officially launched and the makers were looking to begin shooting soon. But the film hit a roadblock after Kamal Haasan got busy with his political assignments and failed to take off.

Kajal Aggarwal was roped in to play the leading lady in Indian 2 and the Mersal actress was part of the official launch of the film. Kajal has been prepping for her role in Indian 2 and is learning Kalaripayattu under expert guidance. Kajal will be seen romancing Kamal Haasan in Indian 2 and will be her first film alongside him.
