Malayalam actress Manju Warrier and the crew of her upcoming film with Sanal Sasidharan were stranded in Himachal Pradesh after floods hit the region. The entire crew were rescued after Manju's brother Madhu Warrier received a call from her about the situation. Madhu reached out to Kerala Minister Muraleedharan who spoke with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur for help. The entire crew including Manju Warrier were rescued by teams and brought to Manali by rescue operations team. Thanking all the efforts by personnel, Manju Warrier took to her Facebook page and posted a picture of the crew and penned a heartfelt note.
"Very happy and relieved to inform all of you that me and the entire team of the movie "Kayattam" by Sanalkumar Sasidharan reached back safe by midnight in Manali and are completely safe now after being stranded for six days in the regions of Shiyagoru and Chhatru in Himachal Pradesh due to snowfall and landslides. Thanks to all the big hearts who swiftly and responsibly executed the rescue operations. And thanks to the care, concern, love and prayers from each one of you. Was shocked to hear about the floods in Kerala. I hope we all stay together in this like last year [sic]," wrote Manju in her post along with the picture. Manju also shared a video of how they struggled to get through to the location of their shooting and called it an adventure. Check them out right here:
This film is directed by Sanal Sasidharan and is titled Kayattam, as suggested by Manju in her post. The crew of Kayattam is safe now and will soon head back to Kerala.
Besides Kayattam, Manju Warrier will also be seen in Tamil film Asuran which will be her debut in Kollywood. Directed by Vetrimaaran, Asuran stars Dhanush in lead role and will be seen playing dual characters. The film is speculated to be scheduled for a Diwali release but yet to be confirmed by the makers.
