The much-waited for biggest action film of India Saaho has released yesterday and this Prabhas-starrer is off to a dream start at the box office. Released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, Saaho has earned more than any of the Hollywood films on day 1 at the box office giving them a tough competition. In Hindi, Saaho has earned a gross collection of Rs 24 crore which is highest for any South actor who has a release in Bollywood. In Telugu, Saaho earns a gross collections of Rs 23 crore at the box office in Telugu states. In Tamil, Saaho is said to have earned approximately RS 11 crore which is yet to be confirmed by the makers. Box office collections for the Malayalam version are yet to be recorded by the distributors. Despite mixed reviews from critics and audience, Saaho seems to have taken a great start at the box office. However, trade experts opine that the film may not be able to sustain for the longer weekend owing to the word of mouth from audience and reviews from critics.

Saaho is said to be filled with tons of twists and thrills with Prabhas at the centre of almost everything but lacks the narrative to keep viewers hooked onto the story. Many viewers felt that the film had the potential to make it big but was pulled down by the lacklustre writing. While fans of Prabhas claim that the film is not as bad as it is being called out, a certain section of audience feels that Saaho is a missed opportunity with a budget of that scale. BollywoodLife critic Urmimala says 'Saaho deserves a watch for its scale, action and leading man Prabhas. The Baahubali actor proves he is unbeatable when it comes to onscreen swag. It is disappointing that he is let down by some lazy writing and editing'.
