There's no need to mention how action-packed the past week was with the release of Prabhas-starrer Saaho. Besides this high-octane action film, there were quite a few other activities in South Indian cinema that kept cine goers occupied. Vijay Deverakonda turned producer and announced his maiden production which will have director Tharun Bhascker playing one of the lead roles. Nani dropped the trailer of his upcoming film Gang Leader which is slated for a September 13 release. In Malayalam, Mohanlal-starrer Ittymaani Made in China's trailer was released and it is hilarious. From Vijay Deverakonda's maiden production to Gang Leader trailer, here's what happened this week...
Vijay Deverakonda production:
After a successful stint as lead actor, Vijay Deverakonda now turns producer and titles his maiden production as Meeku Mathrame Cheptha. The film will star Tharun Bhaskcer, Abhishek Gomatam and Avantika Mishra in lead roles and will be directed by debutante Shammer Sultan. Check out the first look poster here:

Gang Leader trailer:
Nani has joined hands with Vikram K Kumar for the first time and the film has been titled Gang Leader. The film is said to be a revenge drama with comedy and stars Nani as a writer in it. The trailer was released by the makers and it is hilarious AF. Nani, playing a writer, is seen scooping stories from Hollywood films for his books and the scenes are funny. Gang Leader also stars debutante Priyanka Mohan, veteran actresses Lakshmi and Saranya in key roles. Watch the trailer here:
KGF Chapter 2:
In a shocking development, the shooting of Yash-starrer KGF Chapter 2 was halted after a local court in Kolar Gold Fields issued an interim order. The court restrained the team of KGF from shooting in the region after Srinivasa filed a petition stating the makers were causing environmental damage in the process of shooting the film. The makers are yet to react to the situation and an official announcement is awaited.

Ittymaani Made in China:
Mohanlal will next be seen in a film titled Ittymaani Made in China which is touted to be a comic caper. The trailer of the film was released by Mohanlal this week and it will leave you in splits. Mohanlal's antics in the titular role will make you go LOL and root for the film. Watch it right here:
Pooja Hegde in Valmiki:
Pooja Hegde has been roped in opposite Varun Tej yet again in Valmiki which is a remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda. The makers revealed Pooja's first look from the film and her village belle look is quite cute. Sporting half saree and riding a bicycle, Pooja's look in Valmiki as Sridevi will catch your attention. Indian 2:
Tamil actress Aishwarya Rajesh has been roped in for a key role in Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 which is currently being shot. In a shocking development, Aishwarya opted out of the film citing prior commitments and date issues. The Kanam actress confirmed the same in an interview recently. The makers have now roped in Priya Bhavani Shankar as a replacement for Aishwarya Rajesh.

Saaho madness:
As Saaho geared up for release on Friday, fans' hysteria was the talk of social media. In Prabhas' hometown Bhimavaram, fans of the Young Rebel Star put up banners of Saaho across the town celebrating the release of the film. A video has gone viral on social media in which the banners are seen across the city which are 150-200 feet wide in size. Watch the video right here:
