Deepika Padukone is perfect to play her part in biopic, says World Champion PV Sindhu

PV Sindhu recently created history when she bagged the bagged gold and became the first Indian to win a gold at the BWF World Championship 2019. And with all the biopics being made in Bollywood, it'd be folly to miss one on the ace shuttler. But worry not, cause it is already in the works. And not now, actor Sonu Sood had said back in 2017 that he will make a biopic on Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and we're just glad cause it really looks like the best time to be made! If you're not in the know, Sonu not only will be bankrolling the biopic but will also play the part of coach Pullela Gopichand in the film. However, the face for PV Sindhu has not been finalised or confirmed yet. (Also Read: PV Sindhu biopic: Sonu Sood says will use the BWF Championships win as the climax in the film)

But if all works well, we might see Deepika Padukone shuttle on the field cause that's how the Badminton player would like it. That's right, PV Sindhu is keen on DeePee essaying her life on the big screen. The athlete told Hindustan Times, "Would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character. She had played the game and is a good actor too. But then, the makers would take the final decision." And given, that Deepika is Badminton legend Prakash Padukone's elder daughter and has played the sport at national level, this would perfect sense, no?

Earlier, the actress had expressed her views of recreating her father's life as a sports pioneer but either way, we could use some Deepika swinging the rackets. Recently, Sonu Sood said that Sindhu's win at Championship will be used as a climax for the film. "Her historic win provides the perfect climax for our film. How a simple Telugu girl from Hyderabad went on to become India's first BWF World Champion is the stuff of legends. It's a story that stands for the new India," the actor told Times Of India.

Meanwhile, Deepika has wrapped up Chhapaak. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is a biopic on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. In the film, Deepika will be seen romancing Vikrant Massey. Chhapaak will release in January next year. She will also be seen in 83 opposite Ranveer Singh for the first time after their marriage and interestingly, they'll be seen playing an on-screen couple in the film. 83 is directed by Kabir Khan and is based on the first Cricket World Cup triumphant team which included the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Kris Srikanth and others. Ranveer Singh will be seen playing Kapil Dev in 83 and most part of the film has already been shot. Stay tuned to BL for more updates and scoops!
