After playing an intense character of an alcoholic and drug addict surgeon in Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is all set to play the role of a cricketer in his upcoming sports drama titled Jersey, which is the remake of Nani's Telugu hit that had released earlier this year. While the Shahid starrer is set to go on floors in this month in Chandigarh, the latest image of the star has surfaced on the internet, where he is holding a bat in his hand. The actor has been taking regular practice sessions and we are sure that he will impress us with his cricketing and acting skill in this remake.
Talking about the film, Shahid Kapoor recently said, "It took me some time to decide what to do next after ''Kabir Singh''. But the minute I saw ''Jersey'', I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderful inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply. "According to a source, Shahid is "learning the ropes of playing a cricketer on-screen by regularly going for the cricket sessions." The remake is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original one and is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju under their banners Sri Venkateswara Creations and Geetha Arts. It is set to hit the screens on August 28, 2020.
In Jersey, we saw the emotional journey of an underdog cricketer (Nani), who begins his second inning to regain a place in the cricket team. It also featured Shraddha Srinath, Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in key roles. While we are super excited for the film, we are still waiting for the announcement of the lead actress, who will step into the shoes of Shraddha Srinath for this film.
