Shonali Bose's directorial The Sky Is Pink released yesterday on Friday. The Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar-starrer has been received well by the critics, however, it seems the audience has not given it a thumbs up yet. Despite positive responses from the critics, the movie has performed low at the box office. According to early estimates, the movie has collected approximately Rs 2.50 crore on the first day of its release. The Sky Is Pink, a family drama is receiving heavy competition from the action blockbuster War.
The movie has released nine days after Siddharth Anand's action drama which has broken numerous box office records. The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer received the highest opening for a Bollywood film. The first day collections of the movie was Rs 51.6 crore. It has already crossed the Rs 200 crore mark domestically. On its second Friday, the movie has collected Rs 6.50 crore.
The film has already opened up to good reviews and now the ball is in the viewers' park. Our in-house critic gave the film 3.5 stars, "...what impressed us most about The Sky Is Pink was the learning that it gave us - Death is inevitable. As long as you live, make sure you live to the fullest, no matter the thunderstorms in your journey. Thanks to Shonali Bose for giving us a new perspective towards life and death." Another part of the review read, "This is the most beautiful and heartwarming representation of Aisha Chaudhary's life. If you're free this weekend, consider The Sky Is Pink as the best option to watch with your PARENTS. You will give them a tight hug and so will they after watching this one, mark our words. "
