Playing a CBI officer who has his roots in Kerala, Mohanlal hit it out of the park with his expressions in the film and announced to the national audience about his arrival. The thriller also starred Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles.
Vanaprastham:
This award-winning film was directed by Shaji N Kuran and starred Suhasini Mattannur Sankarankutty Marar, Kalamandalam Gopi, and Venmani Haridas. Mohanlal played a Kathakali artist who belongs to a lower caste. The actor s portrayal of multiple emotions won him accolades and proved yet again why he is The Complete Actor.
Kilukkam:
This 1991 release was written and directed by Priyadarshan, who has worked with Mohanlal on numerous occasions. Kilukkam is a romantic comedy and stars Revathi and Jagathy Sreekumar in lead roles. Mohanlal unleashed the comic in him with Kilukkam and fans will remember his performance for life.
Bhramaram:
This thriller was released in 2009 and was directed by Blessy. Mohanlal s performance in this vengeance seeking thriller was one of the best and won him a special jury award at Filmfare. If you haven t watched this film yet, you must do it now!
Kalapani:
This period drama is considered as a cult classic in Malayalam cinema and we thank Mohanlal for this gem. Directed by Priyadarshan, Kalapani was one of the first few movies which focussed on the lives of Indian freedom fighters and Mohanlal aced his role like a pro.
