Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara's Mr Local grabs the top spot at the Chennai box office

Despite getting mixed reviews from the critics, Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara starrer Mr Local has turned out to be a hit at the box office, courtesy to the family audiences, who are huge fans of the lead star. The crackling chemistry between Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara were one of the USPs, which garnered many footfalls at the ticket windows.

The film marked the second collaboration between the two stars after Velaikkaran, which was directed by M Raja. Mr Local also features Radikaa Sarathkumar, Sathish and Yogi Babu in key roles. The music of the film is composed by Hiphop Tamizah and cinematography is done by Dinesh Krishnan, who earlier did the camera work for Suriya-starrer Thaana Serndha Kootam (remake of Akshay Kumar's Special 26).

On the second spot, we have S. J. Surya, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Karunakaran starrer Monster, which has worked tremendously at the box office with the help of glorious reviews. Vishal and Raashi Khanna's Ayogya, which is the official remake of Jr NTR's Temper has grabbed the third position. Since the film is receiving rave reviews from the cinegoers, we are expecting it to remain steady at the box office. Atharvaa Murali and Hansika's 100 is on the fourth spot. The film has got an underwhelming response and it'll be interesting to see how it fares in the coming days. Hollywood flick John Wick: 3 has taken the 5th spot in its debut weekend and by looking at the scenario, we are sure that it will stay in the list for the upcoming week as well.
