Talking about the characters, Ajay Devgn essays the role of Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who was in-charge of the Bhuj Airport during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt plays the character of Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari, who helped the army during the war. While Parineeti will play an Indian spy named Heena Rehman, Sonakshi will be seen as a social worker named Sunderben Jetha Madharparya. Made on the lavish budget of Rs 150 crore, it is one of the ambitious projects of Ajay Devgn. The period film also stars Kajol along with Saif Ali Khan, who will play the lead antagonist in the venture. Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero is scheduled to hit the screens on January 10, 2020, and will lock horns with Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak, which is directed by Raazi helmer Meghna Gulzar.
