Mission Mangal Day 11 collections: In it's second weekend, this Akshay Kumar-starrer has a huge jump at box office

Mission Mangal seems to be on a mission at the box office and is breaking every possible record. Into it's second weekend, Mission Mangal refuses to slow down and is going great guns at the box office. On it's second Saturday in cinema halls, Mission Mangal takes a huge jump at the box office and rakes in Rs 13.32 crore at the box office. This is the highest ever for a film in Bollywood on second weekend during theatrical run. Besides being the highest opening Akshay Kumar film and the second highest opening on day 1, Mission Mangal has also shattered various records at box office across the globe. This astronomic-based film has already earned $1 million in the US in just five days turning out to be a profitable venture for the makers.

Mission Mangal has collected Rs 128.16 crore in its extended first week of 8 days and has now shattered the record of other Bollywood biggies like Gully Boy, Total Dhamaal and Kesari to become the third-highest first week grosser of 2019. With such a behaviour at the box office, we expect the film to soon enter the Rs 200-crore club. Directed by Jagan Shakti, Mission Mangal also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen in key roles. It is co-produced by Akshay Kumar.

Vidya Balan, who plays a key role in the film recently said that just like male stars, even female stars will draw audiences to the theatres in the coming days. "There is no denying that the biggest star in this film and one of the biggest stars in the country is Akshay Kumar. When you talk about the business of a film, you talk in terms of the male actor. But things are changing, we have been headlining films, our films are doing well. Hopefully, in a few years, this change will also happen. But as of today, when you talk about the business of a film, you do say that an Akshay Kumar film has earned this much."
