After the first few shows of Saaho, viewers have expressed that the film seems to be very similar to 2008 release Largo Winch which was directed by J r me Salle. Fans believe that the overall theme of the film matches to Largo Winch and feel that it is a straight adaptation. And one fan tagged J r me Salle on Twitter and told him that his film is being most used in India. To this, J r me Salle had a sarcastic take on the plagiarism issue and it will make you wonder what is happening with filmmakers in India. "I think I have a promising career in India[sic]," Jerome replied to the tweet by a user. Looks like there is another controversy in the making. This is the second Telugu film to land in plagiarism issue after Pawan Kalyan-starrer Agnyathavaasi which also faced similar charges.

Soon after the worldwide release of Agnyaathavaasi, directed J r me Salle, who watched the movie on January 9 tweeted next day, "Screening at #LeBrady tonight. Great atmosphere thanks to the audience. I could've loved the movie but unfortunately the plot was too familiar. #LargoWinch #Agnyaathavaasi." The director continued to put series of tweets citing how the makers have not only lifted the plot but also scenes from his film.
Looks like Saaho isn't having a smooth time post release. Besides this plagiarism issue, Saaho hasn't received greatest of reviews since release. Audience seem to aghast with the way Saaho was conceived by director Sujeeth and opine that the film had the potential to be showcased differently with the budget it had.
