Housefull 4 has witnessed a drop in collections ever since its strong opening, and the steep drop on Sunday would have sent alarm bells ringing were it any other normal or holiday weekend. However, considering that the opening weekend of the Akshay Kumar-Bobby Deol-Kriti Sanon-Riteish Deshmukh-Kriti Kharbanda-Pooja Hegde starrer has fallen during the lull pre-Diwali period, with Sunday being the first day of Diwali traditionally considered a slow day for film business the trade is seeing the collections as a positive sign despite the drops due to double figures being registered each day, with the numbers being in the high teens on day 1 and 2.

Mumbai and the South have seen normal drops of 15-20% over Saturday and Sunday while the approximately 40% drops in North and Central India, though larger on first glance, also follow the pattern of Diwali playing a major factor in those circuits.
The real test for the film begins today, with both Monday and Tuesday big Diwali holidays in almost all parts of the country crucial for business. The second day of Diwali (Monday in this case) has been unanimously accepted by the trade as the best in the year for box-office collections since times immemorial, with many records being established in the past on this day. If Housefull 4 has to emerge a big hit in the long run, then what it does today will go a long way in deciding its fate. The figures till now offer hope, but the picture will become a whole lot clearer from Monday onward.
