'It's not like meri aukad nahi hai,' Govinda REACTS to people's disbelief on his Avatar claim

Govinda was offered James Cameron's mega-budget Hollywood film Avatar but he turned it down. Refuse to believe this claim by Govinda? Well, the actor is fine if you don't believe what he recently mentioned in an interview to India TV. The Hero No. 1 actor, while talking to the news channel, had claimed that he turned Avatar as he was required to apply paint on his body. Once this news clipping was made online, social media users made memes and jokes at the actor's expense, wondering how the celebrated filmmaker offered the film to Govinda, which went on to create earth-shattering records at the box office. People couldn't digest this fact and endlessly poked fun at Govinda on the internet.

When the actor was quizzed regarding it by Bombay Times, he said "I am fine with people wondering how someone like Govinda could refuse a James Cameron film. I can understand where they are coming from. I respect that thought. They are entitled to have that opinion, but to say how come Govinda got that offer in the first place, is wrong."

However, the actor pointed out that the ones who don't believe his claims are examples of prejudiced behaviour. "It's not like meri aukad nahi hai. It's prejudiced behaviour. This is that same elitist, superiority complex. Yeh galat hai. Aapko vishwas nahi karna hai toh mat kijiye, but don't say things like this," the actor was quoted as saying to BT.

Govinda once again mentioned that he did not take up Avatar as he wasn't ready to give 400 days to the film and also because he was asked to apply paint on his body. The actor further opined that his 'massy' image could have been the reason why people refused to believe him. "I was labelled as a massy entertainer and I had no issue with it as it suited me. That could be a reason why the thought of me rejecting Avatar sounds funny to people," said Govinda.

For the ones who have arrived late, Govinda also mentioned that he was the one who suggested the title 'Avatar' to James Cameron and even predicted that his film would turn out to be a super hit. And Avatar clearly surpassed everyone's expectation and become the highest-grossing film ever. Unfortunately, Avatar lost it's huge record recently as Russo Brothers' Avengers: Endgame beat its box office record.

Coming back to Govinda, the actor was last seen in Rangeela Raja. Up next, he has films like Bhagwan Ke Liye Mujhe Chhod Do, Pinky Darling and National Hero, on his platter.
